Assignment Details

Poster Presentation - For this assignment, you will select one topic in US History from 1400-1877 and create a poster presentation, containing the topic’s original definition, and an exploration of the topic’s broader historical significance, paired with images (photographs, paintings, etc.) or figures (maps, graphs, tables, etc.) and source citations. The objective of this assignment is to create a well-researched, concise, and visually-compelling poster that introduces, defines, and historically contextualizes your chosen topic

Research Paper- A 4-page final research paper on a US History topic of your choice (the same topic as your presentation) from the designated course time period (1400-1877) will be due at the end of the semester. There will be specific dates that assignments are due throughout the semester in order to stay on schedule with the research paper. Four different assignments will be required throughout the semester. The paper must be written in Chicago formatting with an annotated bibliography.

Annotated Bibliography (1 primary source,3 printed sources, 5 secondary sources) 25 points of the final research paper grade
